American Junior Golf Association is coming to the Sandhills! Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, North Carolina is host to a field of 78 juniors competing in this annual golf event. The AJGA is the premiere golf tour for juniors throughout the United States. Practice rounds will start on April 28 at 1:30 on the Lake Course at Carolina Trace. Players will tee off on both the 1st and 10th tees at 7:30-9:30 am on Sunday, April 30th.
Thirty volunteers from this golfing community are needed for live scoring, to staff six pace of play timing stations required by the AJGA and to be ball spotters for this challenging Robert Trent Jones Sr. golf course. AJGA will have two full time staff members along with 8 interns to manage the tournament. They will be on site for the entire week before the event. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 on the Sunday.
The Junior Golf Hub has partnered with American Junior Golf Association for this preview series. The Junior Golf Hub offers on line exposure for juniors 13 years and older to highlight their accomplishments to atract the attention of college coaches. The AJGA tournament attracts college coaches looking to recruit top talent throughout the United States.
More than 300 AJGA alumni play on the PGA and LPGA Tours and have earned more than 600 tour victories since the first tournament held in 1978. The national chairman are Hunter Mahan and Annika Sorenstam.
